Bayernwald on the way to climate neutrality
The environmental management of Bayernwald, which has existed for years, is continuously followed up and expanded. Further measures were taken to ensure CO2 savings. The certified energy management according to ISO 50001 includes e.g. an annual quantitative target of at least 0.5% of energy needs. This corresponds to an annual saving of 23 tons of CO2. The electricity is partly generated by two PV systems; A new energy load shedding system ensures that power peaks in the power demand are reduced so that the self-generated solar power can be used optimally and the public power grid is less stressed. When purchasing electricity, we consider suppliers with a higher proportion of electricity from renewable energies (229g CO2 / kWh electricity – the German average is 421g CO2 / kWh electricity). This results in a saving of 672t / a CO2. The newly built warehouse was equipped with a photovoltaic system over 550 kWp, so that a saving of 114t / a CO2 results.
