Bayernwald has dressed them new stylishly and with taste. The new label outfit also proves true etiquette: it combines clarity with tradition and shows with aesthetics and emotional warmth the glowing, fruity taste experience that connoisseurs expect. When you see them in front of you, the members oft the Bayernwald Hitzkopf family can actually be described as a small, fine collection of good (fruit) taste.

In 2019, there was hardly any animal species discussed more than the bee. Because reports on climate change, monocultures and pesticides make it clear: Despite all technical progress, agriculture depends on the natural pollinating. Respect for nature and environmental ethics have always belonged to Bayernwald‘s company and product understanding. That shows up both in official documents and certificates as in continuous engagement: e.g. by planting an orchard with flower meadow, measures to reduce CO2 in the manufacturing process and the support of probiene.de. In general, all the employees of the Bayernwald team have a lot in common with the bees: like them, they know that love and diligence are the source of all good. Reason enough to use this good message as the title of the new Bayernwald Calendar for 2020, which puts it all year under this motto.

On some Christmas markets, the anticipation this year is excellent for the Hitzkopf Rosé premiere. In addition to the red fruit mulled wine Klassik and the white Hitzkopf baked apple, Bayernwald now also offers the elegant variant Hitzkopf Rosé. In this winter season, initially only on selected Christmas markets and in the 10l bag-in-box.

This is going to be a wonderful summer 2020: The new FRUTIY ON ICE  of the organic Hitzkopf range brings delicious fruity refreshment for sunny times. Inspired by the legendary southern Sangria, Bayernwald's product innovators have developed an aromatic organic drink made from organic apple and organic cherry wine, refined with natural extracts of citrus fruits, bringing the taste of the South to the palate. The new Organic Hitzkopf Sangria-type (terrific on ice!) is the perfect answer to the many requests of Hitzkopf and organic Hitzkopf fruit mulled wine fans to be able to enjoy the unmistakable excellent taste from Bayernwald’s beverage world even in summer. Bayernwald's fruit juice sommelier competence

As a renowned traditional company, Bayernwald knows exactly how to preserve traditional recipes and develop interesting refinements and product innovations on their basis. "Continuous quality," says managing director Andreas Moser, "requires that tradition and innovation go hand in hand. It is especially important for experts to continuously increase their knowlege.

In this way, we ensure the high standards of quality and range of fruit competence for our customers. "The most recent example of this is the training of Tobias Pauli as a fruit juice sommelier. The expert opinion of wine, beer, tea or coffee sommeliers has long been regarded by industry and consumers as a quality standard. The fact that sommeliers are being trained in the field of fruit juices, vegetable juices and smoothies is a logical further development. "The awareness of healthy natural foods and drinks is growing all over the world," explains Andreas Moser. "We are very pleased because nature is playing a central role in all our products right from the start."

As a link between product and consumer, we rely on the expertise of specially trained fruit juice sommeliers who can assess Bayernwald products in terms of taste, appearance, mouthfeel and aroma. Tobias Pauli, new fruit juice sommelier at Bayernwald in the Sales Division International for our industrial products agrees: "Fruits are the noblest raw materials of nature. It is absolutely consistent that sommelier expertise will be established for this area as well. Also, it fits in perfectly with our corporate philosophy."

Groundbreaking ceremony:
Bayernwald's fruit world continues to grow

In staying with the corporate credo of keeping supply and quality at the highest level at all times, Bayernwald continues to expand and thus creates optimum capacities for further innovations and developments. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building on a total area planned of almost 4,000 square meters was celebrated by the entire workforce on June 7, 2109 - with crispy pork roast and cool beer.

The two-storey building with office units, dry storage, block and finished goods warehouses as well as tank storage and loading area will be realized in three construction phases according to the latest environmental standards: with environmentally neutral CO-2 cooling and photovoltaics on the entire roof surface. The completion is planned until the fruit crop of 2020 and creates the best conditions for further good and healthy growth of Bayernwald.

Good to know: awarded once again

At Bayernwald, continuity is a top priority. For the award procedure 2018, Bayernwald Früchteverwertung KG again achieved the award certificate as a BGN-winning company. The Berufsgenossenschaft (professional association) thus certifies that prevention measures have been implemented in the five important areas of the work safety organization, education and training, transport and traffic, occupational safety as well as health and ergonomics, which go beyond the statutory minimum requirements.

According to the motto "The best comes last", there is good reason for joy and pride at Bayernwald at the end of the year 2018. Two trainees from Bayernwald were rewarded for their extraordinary achievements: Marina Schuster (industrial clerk) was awarded by the IHK Bayern as the best in Bavaria and Helena Kuchler (specialist for fruit juice technology) was awarded as best of the country in her subject area on Dec. 03, 2018 at the "National Bestenehrung" of the IHK (Chamber of Commerce) in Berlin – participated by Federal President Steinmeier.

They have landed: new tanks at Bayernwald

The increased demand for Bayernwald's fruit juice products can now be answered perfectly. Further tanks now offer an additional capacity for more than 340,000 liters, so that the production can be increased as desired and the thirst for naturally excellent fruit juices, berry wines and mulled fruit wines and punches can be satisfied reliably and sustainably.

Fruits are high on the popularity scale of taste novelties in food and for enjoyment. For Bayernwald it is – in both senses of the word – a natural concern to constantly expand the product range with attractive types of fruit which can open new dimensions for your products. Bayernwald's latest addition to the range is the European Cornelian Cherry (cornus mas L.), the fruit of the yellow dogwood with its intense cherry-like aroma, which offers a fruity, full-bodied aha experience. As announced in February of this year, Bayernwald now answers the brisk customer demand for Kaki and takes the aromatic fruit into the product range. For Bayernwald, good working conditions are part of the self-image of responsible corporate management. This becomes visible and perceptible in all five areas of the premium scheme of the employers' liability insurance association (occupational safety organization, education and training, transport and traffic, occupational safety, health and ergonomics.) The BGN award certificate explicitly states that the implemented prevention measures in all areas are exceeding the required conditons. Care of nature: Whoever takes should also give

Bayernwald, as a processor of natural products, sees itself as part of the natural cycle. The good natural gifts of the flora, e.g. fruits and berries, are only available if an intact environment allows them to grow and thrive. For the sake of a good ecological balance, Bayernwald planted approx. 8.000 m² with fruit trees last year and sowed part of the area with a "flower meadow" under strict observance of the relevant guidelines of our region. Seven apple varieties, four cherry and sour cherry varieties, six pear varieties and four plum varieties were planted.

Social commitment is part of Bayernwald’s company ethics. One example is our membership and engagement in the German children and youth foundation (DKJS with its credo "We do not first look at the shortcomings, but empower young people in what they can do and what moves them”). In the engagement of the foundation for educational success, Bayernwald sees a significant contribution to the promotion of youth which is indispensable for shaping our future. In addition, the Bayernwald self-image also includes the support of non-profit and regional institutions and projects, like the local volunteer fire department, Caritas and projects for children which are supported regularly with financial benefits.

Active contribution to environmental protection: Bayernwald supports research for nature-based packaging material

As a company processing natural products, it is part of Bayernwald's self-image to further optimize the already existing commitment in dealing with resources wherever possible. This is why Bayernwald, in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute ISC and another 10 partners within the EU, is involved in the EU project Hyperbiocoat 2020, which started in September 2016 with the research of new natural packaging materials. From fibers of fruit remains (pomace) and based on an existing, high-barrier coating patented by Fraunhofer ISC, new functional, biodegradable coatings for applications in food, cosmetic and medical product packaging are to be developed. A meaningful forward-looking project to support containment of the plastic flood.

This is why the experienced Bayernwald fruit experts with their nose for trends are constantly seeking to offer new products which can create interesting novelties for your product range. At the moment, kaki fruit (according to Wikipedia the generic name Diospyros means "god fruit") has become increasingly popular with consumers.
